Dubai Desert Classic Leaderboard Gets Interesting

The Dubai Desert Classic leaderboard has a three-way tie at the top. The Dubai Desert Classic leaderboard has Anders Hansen, Thomas Aiken and Rory McIlroy setting the pace for what could be an exciting finish to the tournament on Sunday. Saturday saw Round 3 of the tournament take place, and that included one spectacular round from Alvaro Velasco.

Laura Mendoza Govan Serves Gilbert Arenas... at Halftime!

Gilbert Arenas and the Orlando Magic got served by LeBron James (51 points!) and the Miami Heat on Thursday night. Midway through that disappointing game, meanwhile, the controversial point guard got served in a different manner: a process server presented Arenas with child support lawsuit documents as he exited the court at halftime.

Fernando Torres explains quitting Liverpool for Chelsea

Chelsea new boy Fernando Torres said he left Liverpool because they were a club in transition and a long way from delivering the success he craves. Torres, 26, signed for a British record £50m on Monday, said: "Things had changed a lot in the last year. "I think they have great ambition and they are doing the right things to get back, but it will take time. I didn't have that time."

Luis Suarez Cleared for Liverpool Debut

Liverpool named new striker Luis Suarez in their squad for Wednesday's Premier League match against Stoke City after the Uruguayan received international clearance to play. Fans will welcome news that one half of the strikeforce brought to fill the gaping hole left by Fernando Torres, who has joined Chelsea in a British record transfer, is ready to make his debut.

Fernando Torres makes record move from Liverpool to Chelsea

Chelsea have broken the British transfer record by paying a reported £50m to seal the capture of striker Fernando Torres from Liverpool. The 26-year-old Spain international signed a five-and-a-half-year contract with the Blues.  "This is the target for every footballer - to try to play for one of the top clubs in the world," he said.  "They [Chelsea] are one of the biggest teams in Europe and are always fighting for everything."  The signing was pushed through shortly before the transfer deadline and came on a dramatic day, with Chelsea and Liverpool involved in the four biggest transfers of the day.

Liverpool agree £35m Carroll deal', Torres heads for Chelsea medical

Liverpool believe they have sealed a £35million deal for Newcastle's Andy Carroll after giving Fernando Torres permission to have a medical ahead of a possible move to Chelsea. The Spaniard is set to join Chelsea before tonight's 11pm transfer deadline in a deal worth up to £50million - and Liverpool could replace him with Newcastle's Andy Carroll. It's not known whether Torres' medical will be held in the north or closer to London - but sources were insisting the player was due at Chelsea's training ground later today.
